Services

The Laboratory for Natural Magnetism LNM is used primarily for research in the realm of earth sciences, specifically rock and mineral magnetism, and paleomagnetism, by researchers from the Department of Earth Sciences at ETH Zürich.

In addition, it is our aim to offer services with our various highly sensitive measurement systems to other research units as well as to clients from the private sector, or other departments, e.g. material sciences, chemistry.

Such services are subject to measurement fees to cover costs.

• Determination of magnetic properties of magnetic nanoparticles
• Magnetic analysis of biological samples
• Environmental pollution

Possible services

• We measure the sample and provide you with raw data for your own interpretation (fee dependent on operator time)
• We instruct you in the use of the measurement system so that you are able to measure by yourself (fee for manpower and usage time of the instruments).
• In special cases we offer data evaluation with a report (fee dependent on time).
