New funding for Andy Jackson and Jerome Noir
Andy Jackson and Jerome Noir have been awarded SNF funding to study normal modes of the Earth and outer core dynamics on long time scales.
New funding for Jerome Noir
Jerome Noir has been awarded a project by SNF to study the interaction of inertial waves and zonal flows. The grant title is Flows induced within planetary fluid layers through the interplay of thermal convection and orbital perturbations.
Congratulations to Jerome
Many congratulations to P.D Dr. jerome noir and his colleagues Daniel Lecoanet, Michael Le Bars, Tiffany Shaw, William Young, and Stefan Llewellyn-Smith who have been awarded a multidisciplinary Simons Foundation grant for the research project “Fundamental Fluid Processes in Climate, Stellar, and Planetary Modeling”.

Isaak Newton Institute
Andrew Jackson, Stefano Maffei and Philippe Marti all contributed to the Isaak Newton Institute programme on dynamo theory (https://www.newton.ac.uk/event/dyt2/). This meeting is a rare focus on magnetic field generation in stars and planets, and follows meetings in 1992 and 2004.
